I completed my Diploma in Adlerian Counselling in 2014 and I currently have a small private counselling practice in Harlow. I also run groups for parents, and self-esteem groups. I have experienced and observed how hard it can sometimes be to find the courage to face the more difficult of life’s challenges.
The Adlerian approach to counselling is based on the work of Alfred Adler, the psychologist recognised alongside Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung as one of the founders of psychotherapy. For all of us, our life journey is complex and risky, right from the moment we are born. We strive to find ways to move forward in life, some of which are more successful than others. At times the courage to continue on this journey temporarily deserts us, and we may seek the therapeutic support to try to understand why we are no longer going in the direction we want.
Since training as a counselor I have supported people with issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, low self-esteem, and alcohol related issues.
I also offer a Creative Space, and a Create for Well-being groups, in which you can explore self expression through the use of several mediums. We meet as a group weekly. The groups are donation based. Please contact me for more information on these groups.

A first session is a chance for us to explore what you would most like to find out about yourself and if there is something important that you would really like to change in your life. I will ask questions about your general health and well-being, your family situation, your working life, and other relationships and sources of support or stress. There is also practical stuff to consider such as confidentiality, what I do with your personal information, payment, timekeeping and what to do about missed or cancelled sessions. There will also be time for you to ask questions so it is not all one-way. I usually ask people to spend time after the session writing ‘My Life in 100 Words’. There are probably more than 100 ways of doing this and it helps to get our second session off to a lively start.
